Flannel and Fringe

Fall is all about flannel and fringe. From over-sized scarves to blankets and throws, even falls accessories love the combination . I felt inspired to find a way to combine the two in my wardrobe and put this casual look together. d

I’ve had this skirt for so long and have always dressed it up, I  never once imagined it could become the perfect casual  piece until making this combination! (lesson here: don’t be afraid to dress things down! )

We all love flannel shirts, so getting to wear one differently  is always fun, and fall is a great time to put a little country into your outfit!

I threw on a pair of booties I love, however I this type of look would be great with a wide variety of shoes: knee boots, cowgirl boots, heels, wedges, even cute flats.

If your interested in any of these pieces, I got the entire outfit from JustFab  without even realizing it until halfway through my day. A few times a year they do killer sales (last time everything I got was $5 an item) so my closet has been stuffed with their goodies lately! If you want to give them a try for half off you can use my link (you’ll get one too if you do shop there, so then you can get perks from it too!)   http://www.justfab.com/invite/ashleyb/

How do you wear flannel and fringe in the fall? Have any favorite pieces? Let me know in the comments!  ❤

Bring home the booties

I don’t know about you, but I have dreams of a walk-in closet full of shoes that would make Carrie Bradshaw jealous. Unfortunately, I don’t have the room or cash for that.  So shoe choices have to be really thought out. There is no where to stick a designer pair of heels I’ll wear once a year even if I could go grab some. So whats the best shoe out there to get through all seasons in style?  What’s capable of going everywhere with you to show you it is worth the investment?

The humble bootie.

Bootie’s are really just low boots and they come in a million styles and colors because they are a closet staple.  You can wear them with anything. Jeans, leggings, dresses, tights, and even shorts when it is hot out.  Boots have a way of going from super formal to easy casual in a flash, and a well built pair will only get better with age.

I have two pairs and I practically live in them

These black ones I got from JustFab ages ago and I love them. They are my goto shoes for shorts  and maxis alike .

For my 2nd pair I went with a tad more heel for when I needed to dress things up a bit.

Do you have a pair of booties you love? Let me know!

The one fashion rule you should NEVER break

The fashion world always has rumors of rules swirling around, and even more rumors about which rules were meant to be broken. However, there is one fashion rule you should never break. Ever.

It’s a simple one:

If you want to wear something, wear it.

Throw out any idea that you are too big, too little, too short, too tall, too old, too young, too whatever and just wear what makes YOU happy.

Thats what fashion is about – YOU!. It is your body, your clothes, your money, your time. You control your wardrobe and dont let ANYONE let you believe otherwise.

So tell any voices in your head to shove it when they whisper doubts to you about not being able to pull something off.

Want to wear heels? WEAR THEM

Your husband’ jeans? PUT THEM ON

That bikini? HELL YES!

A gown with a denim jacket? DO IT!!

Black everything?  Ohhh yes!

You are beautiful enough. You are the right size, the right height, the right everything.  So don’t wait, grab whatever makes you happy and rock it.

Id love to see just how fabulous you look, so dont be afraid to share a picture or let us know what that one thing you’ve been dying to wear is!

Dollar shave club review

I hesitated to post this since it isnt totally fashion related, but then I realized that your hair and skin situation can have a pretty big impact on your outfit options  (God knows how many times I have ran to the bathroom to shave my legs as fast as possible to throw a skirt on )

So here it is, my totally honest review of the dollar shave club.

To start, let me tell you I have always been terrible when it comes to shaving. Not just because I cant seem to master making kid’s breakfast, lunch, my breakfast, walking the dog, brushing my teeth, drying my hair and shaving all at the exact same time in the morning, but because I’ve just never been good at it.

Despite the money I throw down at the store on the best bright pink , smoothing, bending, transformer of a razor they have to offer I still end up with bumps, more bumps, and an embarrassing amount of knicks considering Im a grown-ass woman and should really be able to shave blindfolded by now.

Turns out I was just in one bad razor relationship after another.

The only reason I even bothered to try this very non-exciting looking razor out was because I had a code for a totally free box and my wallet found that pretty exciting. I fully intended to cancel long before I would pay for another shipment .

Then this simple box appeared with some witty reading material, a handle, and a few razors.  I took a shower, stepped out and tossed every single other shaving device I had collected into the trash proclaiming, “Turns out, it’s not me, it’s you!!”

The razor is perfection. I don’t know why or how, but clearly they coat the blades in a thin layer of magic. I have done nothing different, I still shave like a mad woman running late for everything who is just desperate to wear a cute dress but my skin is fantastic. NO BUMPS. NONE. Im not even exaggerating that – there are no bumps. No stray hairs that escaped their fate, no cuts, nothing. Just smooth skin.

Needless to say Im hooked for life. It’s pretty cheap too actually, which is nice. I pay $9 a month for the Executive Razor but they have plans at low as a buck a month. Get enough blades to change it every week, and they just appear in the mail at the perfect time.

So thanks Dollar Shave Club for getting me out of bad razor relationships.

If you want magic coated razors delivered to you, you can use this link http://shaved.by/eqPpK for a $5 credit for you and a credit for me – win, win.  Once you sign up, you get your own link too, so you can share the love and get credit towards your future orders.

Have you tired dollar shave club yet?  let me know what you think, and if you are as hooked as I am.

It is finally fall! Here  in Colorado that means you spend one day getting a tan in the 80 degree sunshine and the next day shoveling snow,  but soon each and every day will be crisp and cool.

And you know what the best part of that is?  (besides pumpkin spice lattes)

If you do not own a pair of fuzzy boots, I recommend you stop reading and fix that immediately..seriously..what are you waiting for?

I love fuzzy boots. Everyone loves fuzzy boots.  I have been staring at mine all summer, longing to wear them again and today its finally cold enough ! I use to hate the cold, now I count down the days to it…thats how amazing fuzzy boots are.

To be totally honest I buy at least 4 pairs a season, so I have tried pretty much every brand out there and I can say JustFab is the only place I will buy them from now on.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good pair of Uggs, and deep down inside I would love to drop an entire paycheck on a pair of pink fluff mammas.. but I gotta keep the lights on and feed the cats instead.   I do have two pairs of uggs and more pairs of JustFab’s fuzzies line than I can count. Ill be honest, there is zero difference when it comes to look and comfort. None. And for a quarter of the price, you can feed your fuzzies obsession with JustFab boots.

Ive also found the JustFab ones are really easy to clean, which I do often because I get mine wet and muddy all the time, and they are so comfortable you’ll want to live in them. The only problem is you have to go take them back from your friends’ houses when they come over with cold feet and steal your shoes 🙂

Heres a few of my favs they’ve rolled out this season (and if you want to score a pair half off –  making them around $20 – use this link http://www.justfab.com/invite/ashleyb/ )
